Welcome to my kitchen, where passion meets flavor.
I’m Sarah, the creator and main character of this food blog. Growing up in a household where the kitchen was the center of the house, I developed a passion for cooking at the age of twelve. This enthusiasm inspired me to seek official culinary arts training in Europe, where I improved my methods and learned the power of vibrant flavors and fresh ingredients. My gastronomic horizons were broadened by moving to New York, where I was exposed to an infinite variety of cuisine. I got countless ideas for fusing my Western heritage with international influences from vibrant farmers’ markets to obscure ethnic culinary treasures.
My Culinary Philosophy
I believe in creating recipes that are:
- Simple yet elegant: Transforming humble ingredients into extraordinary dishes.
- Globally inspired: Combining classic European techniques with the vibrant flavors of New York’s multicultural scene.
- Accessible to all: Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced cook, my recipes are designed to inspire confidence and creativity.
Cooking, in my opinion, is a means to celebrate life, build relationships, and tell stories in addition to providing delicious food. I want my readers to experience the same joy and passion that I put into each recipe.

The Inspiring Story
As a child, I once saw something that had a significant influence on my culinary career. My aunt and my grandmother, the head of our household, were in the kitchen. A big basket of recently harvested garlic waited to be transformed on the table. My grandmother patiently and lovingly demonstrated to my aunt how to peel each clove, blanch them just enough to bring out their flavor, and then submerge them in olive oil that has been flavored with fragrant herbs.
Paying attention, my aunt inquired as to why this preparation was being made. With a smile, my grandmother answered:
— “Garlic’s flavor and health benefits are preserved in this manner. Our family has been passing down this culinary gem for many generations.
I was very moved by this transmission moment, where family customs and knowledge were exchanged. I came to realize that cooking is more than just preparing food; it’s a tradition, a way for generations to connect, and a way to show love. My love of cooking was sparked by this encounter, which also motivated me to spread awareness of these culinary gems.
My Favorite Dishes to Cook
Saffron and preserved lemon risotto is one of my favorite recipes; it strikes the ideal mix between ease and elegance. From filling soups to contemporary takes on classic pastries, my kitchen is always a hive of creative activity.
Lessons from My Journey
The path to cooking hasn’t always been easy. I’ve overcome obstacles and used setbacks as teaching and creative opportunities. My recommendation? Start small, have fun, and don’t be scared to make mistakes because they’re frequently the first steps to exciting new discoveries.
